Our Mission

SRTX is powering a better future for textiles.

SRTX drives durability and sustainability of apparel products by building new materials and software to enable better textiles. We leverage smart, domestic manufacturing to support
the sustainable economic development of our local communities.

SRTX is best known for its first technology, Sheertex, a knit made from one of the world's strongest polymers which has disrupted hosiery through impossibly strong pantyhose. Named one of TIME’s Best Inventions, our customers get more wears from our tights than average - meaning fewer tights end up in landfills. Our mission towards achieving sustainability stretches beyond the environment: we are committed to paying our employees a living, equitable wage and offering an environment that promotes creativity and growth. Our factory and office share our headquarters, allowing constant collaboration and innovation that can be implemented immediately. We encourage our employees to learn quickly, have autonomy, and leave a direct and lasting impact on the company as we strive to become the leading brand in hosiery.

People & Culture

We are a team of creative, goal-oriented problem solvers driven by our commitment to making a transformative impact on the fashion industry and the planet.

Read more about embracing creative collaboration

Given the hands-on nature of our work, we’re firm believers that face-to-face collaboration onsite makes us stronger as a collective and we work together to push boundaries, tackle challenges, and make the impossible possible. A team of go-getters, we embrace cross-functional communication that brings us closer to reaching our goals, including weekly town hall meetings, open forums, and more. The freedom to innovate and share ideas is embedded within our culture—trying and testing new things is part of what we do. We work hard and we work quickly; our one constant is change, and we move fast to adapt—faster than most, which is why we even have Meeting-Free Tuesdays, a day dedicated to giving you the time you need to get ahead of the game.

Read more about building a diverse & resilient community

Our team is currently made up of nearly 200 full-time employees, 54% of whom are directly involved in bringing our products to life at our Montreal factory and headquarters. We aim to recruit and retain the best available talent and believe in harnessing the power of community—so much so that we made a point to rehire many of the original Gildan production staff members when we first moved into our factory.

As an equal opportunity employer and female-led company composed of 41% women overall and a leadership team that’s 55% female, we are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment and encourage women, Indigenous people, and members of racialized communities to apply. By the end of 2022, we aim to have upwards of 280 employees contributing their talents towards our company vision. As one of Canada’s fastest growing startups, there’s no better or more exciting time to join us than now.

Benefits

Working with us means that you’ll have access to a wide range of benefits, from comprehensive health and dental insurance to Bixi cost coverage and virtual cooking classes.

Mind & Body

What’s more important than your health and well-being? After your first three months, you’ll receive extended health insurance, dental, life, and travel insurance. It’s time to treat yourself to that massage you’ve been daydreaming about. We also offer access to Dialogue, a virtual healthcare tool, and Headspace, to help find your zen.

Responsibly on-the-go

Leave the car at home. Sheertex will cover your Montreal OPUS public transportation expenses for the year so that you can get to and from the office as effortlessly as possible. Prefer biking to work (or wherever)? Sheertex covers up to $200 of your annual bicycle or Bixi expenses.

Parental perks

Parenthood can be challenging, but we’re here to help. All full-time employees who opt to take maternity, paternity, or parental leave can participate in our “Top Up” Plan, which pays the difference between your standard weekly salary and the maximum amount provided by government benefits.

Give back to the community

We’re all about celebrating community engagement and encourage you to give back to your community with our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program. Spend up to 8 hours of employer-sponsored paid time providing meaningful, purposeful help to those in need. Sheertex will also match up to $500 for any donations you make throughout the year to the charities of your choice.

Your financial future

Contribute to our Manulife Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) to start saving for retirement. Your future self will thank you. We’ve also partnered with Wealth. Simple to provide Sheertexers with the best options and guidance to start (or continue) investing.

The learning never stops

Class is in session. Looking to improve your public speaking abilities? Or want to learn how to provide detailed feedback? We’ve partnered with LifeLabs Learning, a hands-on virtual management training program intended to help you improve the professional skills you care about.

Equipped with all you need

For those in our Maintenance, Facilities & Knitting teams who require personal protective equipment, a personal annual budget of up to $250 will be provided to purchase items required to do their jobs safely.

Get your snack on

There’s no such thing as too many cooks in the kitchen with our monthly Cooking With events, where an employee (or guest chef!) hosts a virtual cooking class. Sheertex provides the recipes and covers the cost of the ingredients—all you have to do is cook up a storm with us. When it comes to curing the munchies at work, there are healthy snacks and drinks onsite every day, alongside an endless supply of coffee and tea.
